Zum Gedenken an James Dewitt Yancey aka J Dilla aka Jay Dee hat Stüssy in Zusammenarbeit mit Stones Throw Records ein limitiertes T-Shirt kreiert. Auf der Brust ist ein Bild aus Ralph Rashid’s “Behind the Beat” Buch abgebildet, im Nacken befindet sich ein gekrönter J Dilla Schriftzug und die Jahresdaten 1974 – 2006.
Passend zu dem Shirt Release wurde auch die dreiteilige J Dilla Dokumentation veröffentlicht. Warum die ersten beiden Teile nur auf Youtube und der dritte nur auf Vimeo zu finden ist kann wohl niemand erklären.
Robbie Ettelson von Unkut hat zusammen mit Doo Wop das Mixtape mit dem Titel “Counter Strike – The Unkut Dot Com Mixtape” online gestellt. Kleine Info am Rande: mein allererstes Mixtape (ja, auf Kassette) war von Tony Touch und Doo Wop und absoluter Kingshit. Auf “Counter Strike – The Unkut Dot Com Mixtape” versammelt sich eine feine Auswahl an New Yorker MCs wie zum Beispiel Capone, Craig G, Kool G Rap, Smiley The Ghetto Child, Willie The Kid, Killa Sha, Copywrite, Roc Marciano oder Milano. Gemixed und gehosted wird das Mixtape natürlich von Doo Wop himself und präsentiert von der Graffiti Firma Ironlack. Sollte man also auschecken:

Der Fernsehsender arte zeigt am 25. März die Dokumentation “STREET ART – The Ephemeral Rebellion” über die europäische Street Art Szene in den Städten Berlin, Paris und Moskau. Dabei wird besonders hervorgehoben, dass es natürlich weit mehr als Banksy zu entdecken gibt.
